I am never entirely sure of what to write on a page like this, so I promise to be somewhat brief so you can move on to more interesting things.  I have been a “Gamer” most of my life, having grown up just as the Nintendo Entertainment System burst onto the scene and filled both of my ears (and the ears of my parents) with endless renditions of the Legend of Zelda theme. Many years later, in 1998 to be exact…I stumbled upon a PC game called Ultima Online.

It promised me an online gaming experience unlike anything I had ever seen before, connecting me with people from around the world on an eternal quest to slay powerful monsters and learn the meaning behind words like “noob” and “gank”. I was fascinated by the possibilities surrounding online games such as UO, and about one year later a good friend of mine introduced me to Everquest.

It rapidly became all too apparent that the hook was in deep, and my passion for Massively Multiplayer Online Games was born in the boundaries of Everquest’s virtual world of Norrath.

Over 10 years have passed since then and MMO gaming remains a blessed of hobby of mine that I will always cherish.  As I have learned in my years, sometimes you just need to take a break from the real world and escape from the hectic bustle of daily life.  Though I have tried, I just can’t think of a better way to do that than by venturing off into a beautiful, virtual universe shared with players from all over the globe.  MMO are not just your average video game in the style Halo or Super Mario…but these are places where millions of people create avatars in different games and live out the adventurous lives of those characters together.  They roam dangerous lands and take part in wondrous stories similar to Lord of the Rings or Star Wars.

This blog is dedicated to all of the players and developers who have helped to shape the virtual worlds of the past…and to all those who shall do so in the future.  Happy Gaming to all of you!!!  :)
